Here at Rio Grande Associates we build ready to run rolling stock and
accessories for your backyard railroad. We offer our products in 1.5" and
2.5" scale, and
are ready to build models to your specific needs. Our rolling stock comes
with metal surfaces primer coated, color painting and lettering is available at
additional cost. We also serialize each of our cars with Rio Grande Associates
and the car number. Please feel free to contact us with your idea's for that dream
railroad project.
- TANK CARS INCLUDING UTLX FRAMELESS TANK
CAR; (a.k.a. Gramps) AND CONOCO AND TEXACO

The UTLX cars were built in the 1908-1912 era as standard gauge Tank
Cars with a capacity of 6000 gallons. They remained in service into the mid
1950's. The Conoco cars are offered in several styles used on the C&S, the
RGS and the D&RGW systems. The Texaco double dome tanks will make some nice
models.
- Standard Gauge FLAT CARS; STANDARD & BULKHEAD

These cars were built in the 1930's and 1940's and remained in
service into the 1960's. These cars are built to represent the bulkheads
built by American Car and Foundry, and the Flats are built to represent the
cars built by the Pressed Steel Car Company.
- Standard Gauge HOPPERS; ACF 70 Ton
COVERED HOPPER, 2 BAY OFFSET END HOPPER CAR

These cars were built by the American Car and Foundry in the 1930's
and 1940's, with service into the 1960's.
- Standard Gauge Boxcars: Outside
Braced Single Sheathed Boxcar
- These cars were built in the early 1910-1920 time frame and survived in
use well into the 60's. Two examples still exist today in Antonito,
Colorado.
- Standard Gauge Tank Cars; 10,000
gallon Tank cars; 8000 gallon Tank cars also available
- These cars were built by American Car and Foundry and feature Riveted
Tanks and Underframe components.

Diesel horns, 3 chime, coming soon single chime in front and deck
mount.
- NARROW GAUGE ROLLING STOCK

Narrow gauge cars in both 1.5" and 2.5" scales. We will be building
both C&S, RGS and D&RGW cars, including Maintenance of Way equipment, as
well as some Westside Lumber Company equipment.
